*If* the OP's connections were not done properly I could see the manufacturer denying a claim, but without having the unit in hand, how would they know. The contactor itself could have been faulty too.

Like I stated in a previous post, all connections were tight when I removed it. I installed this EMS unit in our previous RV in 2009. It was in there for 4 years (no problems), then I transferred it to our current RV in 2014. So it's been preforming it job the last 3 years, and a total of 7 years. So I surmise my connects were done right. Something happened but probably will never know cuz Progressive Ind. doesn't care.
Here's a pic of the inside of the unit. As shown, the set screw on the upper left terminal and inside of the end part of the box is scorched from the insulation on the wires melting from the heat.

Decisions...Decisions....do I go with another P. I. EMS HW30C or a Surge Guard 30 amp HW.
