when should a powermax pm4b drop into float mode

the meanwell HRP - 450 and 600 series look promising, 30a and 43a respectively, with 13.5 - 18v adjustable. i think one of these would serve very well as an abs charger and finisher. and they draw 5 amps and 8.5 amps... the pm4b draws about 9amps.
