when should a powermax pm4b drop into float mode

I can see running an extra fan on many chargers. I did it on my Lester as I repaired many of them with burned terminals. Of course they were in personnel carriers in factories with batteries that would be bone dry and run down until the cart had to be pushed into the shop.

So mine is probably overkill.
