Every battery, and even among brands, is different. You basically need to baseline what is "normal" for your battery pair, if two 6 volt jars paired, when top charged and cycled 10x or so, shortly after being brand new.
Just keep up on the top charging and doing a major EQ session every 10 to 14 charge cycles if you use your batteries daily. Doing so will yield trends in battery charging. It will also make you a battery expert on your brand and size of battery. Yes, there is a learning curve. Do you have to do it? No. But if one wants to learn, it's a great exercise and education.
