I'm in the process of switching all my wiring over to 2ga with heavy duty tinned copper ends. I charged one of the 215Ah banks last evening, from about 72% soc, and the only wire changed there so far was the one from the neg batt terminal to the shunt post. It was a 16" length of 4ga with cheapo metal ends. It is now a 2" length of 2ga plus the two new ends, so 3 1/2" in all.
Result:
The pm pumped out a wapping 47.1 amps! (to the moon, alice!) compared to its previous 45.6a. And the voltage drop across the shunt, at that amperage, dropped from .03v to .01 !!!
You have a 50 amp or a 100 amp shunt?
