Minor variations from how many linking wires between batteries are adding to the resistance the charger sees, but too minor to worry about.
Go for the most convenient set-up with the least work setting up a recharge and putting things away after.
If the chargers have clamps like Vectors do, then you need extended battery posts to clamp to. I use copper water pipe with one end banged flat and a hole in that to go on the battery post, then clamp several clamps to the pipe sticking out.
Here is one on the Trimetric shunt.

EDIT: when my Honda 3000 ran out of VA, I tried another way to add some generator. The truck engine plus an inverter, called an inverter-generator! :)
I was able to run a 1000w MSW inverter off the truck's battery outside on the fender (it got too hot in closer to the engine with the hood up and shut itself off) running a Vector 35amper. Truck idling (gas engine) for an hour, no problem. (limit on how much inverter load the truck can run--not much more than the 35amper in my case)
So I had 35a on the bank from the "front" inverter gen and another 130a from the Honda 3000 in the back of the truck to get 165a on the bank at once. Wheee.
