Where is advertised length measured & EPDM roof replacement

Hello,
I have a 2001 Springdale 370 on a permanent site near the beach in Delaware. I live three hours from the place. This spring I plan on installing new EPDM white rubber roofing. Looking at the specs of the trailer it is listed as 38'-9" long. Where is that dimension taken? I ask because a guy local has a killer deal $160 on a piece of .060 white EPDM 9'-3" x 38'-0". Since I'm not at the trailer and won't be for another month I need to find out if this piece will be long enough? Knowing where the factory dim. 38'-9" is measured may give me confidence to snap up this deal quickly. Any thoughts?

Thanks,

    Buy it.
99 chance out of 100 that your length is with 3.5ft hitch, AND the last 1 ft of the roof at the front is where the sloped front wall begins. So your roof is (probably) 36-something ft.

Like others noted, on a permanent site when trailer is not towed every day you can add another piece if you have to.
  • Buy it. Although not the ideal solution if it is not long enough you can buy a smaller piece to cover any shortage.

Before anyone says that is not the "right Way" the camper is at a permanent site and a 2001 model.
  • Since the Hitch (A frame) is supposed to be included in the total length, which would mean the EPDM at 38 feet would cover the 39 minus the 3 foot A frame at 36 feet. Remember, the top front roll wrap rolling over to the EPDM will usually go back 6 inches. You should have at least 18 inches extra EPDM. Doug
