Where is My Dometic Circuit Board? Northstar 850SC

Op's refer does not have a circuit board.

On a dometic Fridge there are three circuit boards.

#1 is a connections board, I beileve it has a fuse or 2, it is in the outside compartment, bottom, center, exposed

#2 is to the left of the first as you face the rear of the fridge, on teh side wall, covered with black plastic, THIS is the "Control board" it too has fuses on it.

#3 is the "Eyebrow" Switches and indicator lights. not much electronics wise, no fuses.

It's working! User ignorance,thrown off by the On/Off meter that is in fact a flame indicator. Plus I'll also confess to thinking I should have heard a compressor start up on AC. Duh,

Blew out the burner area with compressed air and she fired right up.

Thanks for helping me threw this. It is amazing how fixing stuff comes much easier with someone to talk to.

You may want to make sure the main switch is actually turning and not just the knob.

The green meter is the flame indicator- it has nothing to do with electric operation. You will see and hear nothing when on electric, but the back of the refrigerator will get hot and the inside will get cold- after many hours.

It does absolutely nothing. When plugged into shore power, I turn the main switch to AC and the temp switch to max. The green/white meter beside the main switch doesn't budge. I will do what you suggest above and let you know what I find.

Hmmm. Back to the drawing board then. Everything I've been reading about why a Dometic stops working is because of the circuit board. Any suggestions on where to start?

I don't know what you have been reading, but failure of a Dometic circuit board is extremely rare. The last 16 years, the Dometic circuit boards rarely fail. A LOT of inexperienced people replace the circuit board when other parts are at fault. You have a "manual" type refer. The only difference is, your newer model has a 12 volt power source to operate some of the controls. The 120 and the LP are manual and the 12 volt supply just operates the inside flame indicator meter. The 12 volt HEAT element is ONLY to be on when in transit, not when stationary and the Engine of your motorhome or Tow Truck is not ON. The FIRST thing you do, is hot wire the 120 element for 24 hours. If after 24 hours the refer is NOT below 40 degrees and the ventilation is clear at the backside, then the cooling unit is bad. Doug

Have you cleaned the stack and the burner area?
Any signs of yellowish powder in the outside access?
