Where to take tire temps
I just picked up an IR thermometer. Where is the best location to take tire temperatures, tread or sidewall? Joe

I shoot the tread but the important thing is do all the tires the same.
Regarding the next question which wasn't asked yet; there is no set temperature to look for. You want all the tires to be in a reasonable range, trouble is indicated when one tire is substantially hotter than the others.
