You described the frame but you forget the plate ASIMIL8

The Borg were always saying "We will Assimilate resistance is futile"

It seems some folks did not get the Star Trek reference and felt it meant that the Whit Man's culture would "Assimilate" theirs.... Some folks simply do not know when it is a joke.
