Why should I switch to golf cart 6v batteries

PT, you wouldn't have to replace your bank with the exact amp-hour of the current one when going with LI. I'm currently learning some "new" things about LI in that even really small banks can handle very large loads with little voltage drop. One person (an RVer) replaced his 4 6V's with one 160Ah LI battery along with 500W of solar (don't know if he had the solar before though). He runs his microwave off that single battery with little voltage drop even at lower SOC's. I'd want a larger battery for days the solar ain't cutting it though. Maybe 400Ah. The point is that you wouldn't need that same size bank.
