As we dry and wet camp, I switched to 6volt Trojans after experiencing problems with 12 volt deep cycles. Its a huge difference in length of time before needed to recharge. My Trojans on my first TT are over 10 years old and still going when I sold it this spring. So it was a no brainer to do it again. The key to all of it is not to discharge below 50% and to use an intelligent charger that stirs the batts and provides maintenance charging. I haven't gone solar yet but thats next so I wont have to run the genny as much, when dry camping to recharge. If you dry camp there is no other real choice for me
