Mex's comment on a tough fate of GC in a country club could account for those failing after 2 years.
Still doesn't look like GC stand out from the rest of the crowd. Gells are at the bottom (no surprise), and Rolls at the top. Not sure that industrial deep cycles are THAT much better, but Rolls is a top brand indeed.
Again, Mex (and the OP) are spot-on with "more usage between charges". 2*6V is "more usage" because 225 AH of 2*6V is more than 200 AH of 2*12V. You can get 2*110 AH @12V and have same usage between charges, but this would cost more. After spending +25K on a disposable, self-destructing, plywood box of RV, people are trying to save pennies and buy GC - because GC have a higher AH per dollar. This is the real reason for most people buying GC, nothing else.
I wonder where Lithiums would fit into the above scale of Pianotuna.
