Just out of curiosity has anyone tried the idea of several windmills on top of the RV to generate power to recharge batteries as you are driving? They could be raised and lowered as the situation cal...

I can't speak for your RV but many RVs do charge the chassis battery when power is applied to the house battery from generator or plugged in.
Fairly easy to add a combiner or relay if you do not have one. Power could be limited so you might be limited to day driving with no dash air conditioner. House air should run fine with generator running.
Just saying this is an off the shelf solution.
A larger solar power system would also work during the day to power the chassis system.
