Winegard Carryout loses signal without 12 volt

I have been using the Carryout for a few years as a full-timer. It worked Thursday. Today when I hooked it up, it worked fine until I unplugged it from the 12 volt. Tried it several times. It has a...

That is true. BUT, all things wear with age and you need the 12 volts to allow the Dome to self correct when it drifts/relaxes.
