Winegard Sensor Pro

I just installed this winegard sensor pro, an exact replacement for the OEM wall plate w/ the push button amp and indicator lite and cig liter receptacle. This is worth its weight in gold for OA batwing signals reception.
Directions says to turn it off, just put it on "park cable"
But this one turns itself off after about 2 minutes, no matter which mode it in. Is this an update ? Its ok, cuz it works perfectly.
  • They are fantastic. I used one at home to fix my antenna problems. Hooked it to a 12v supply and sat on the roof with it to fine tune my antennas. As a side note, I fused around with 2 real nice antennas designed for VHF/UHF. I researched everything. Still had problems. After I hooked up the Sensor Pro, I still had issues. I removed the two antennas I had, the combiner, and all the other******that connected it. I went to my shed and grabbed my old batwing antenna and connected it. Well, my db level was twice has high and I picked up every possible station with this only one antenna. In the end, I used the Sensor Pro to put it in the right direction then removed it and put on the typical amplifier. The batwing is fantastic vs. any other typical tv antenna I have found.

No, it does not turn itself off, The display goes dark is all.

On your computer you have a "Screen Saver" option, after so many mintues of inactivity (no input from user) the screen save kicks in.. IN days of old this was needed because CRT monitors could get "Burned in so they put on some animated thingy or another that prevented burn in.

ONE of the optional screen savers is "BLANK" (screen goes dark)

The Sensar Pro (And the manual actually explains this id you read it 3 times or more) does much the same thing, to conserve battery power if there is no user input (no buttons pushed) the display simply goes dark.. ONLY the display shuts off.. The unit is still functioning however when this happens. ONLY the display shuts off.

As I type this I am looking one that's about 2 years old.
  • Well, it gets rid of the 12V power outlet jack in the process. I kind of need that 12V outlet for my small inverter to run the 22" TV off of.

Nice info; I'm going to be adding the Sensor Pro soon!

I have the same unit plus added the Batwing UHF small metal adapter which helps a lot with UHF reception

Yes - the lights go out in all modes (saving some power) after a period of time but the system stays active and draws power in all but cable mode
