I use battery terminal spray which helps. Load check the batteries to determine their condition. New batteries are less prone to corrode.
AGM batteries are flooded but they are sealed inside. If they start leaking they are toast. I know that the battery monitor shunt is exposed to corrosion in the following picture but for me replacing it when needed is the best option. So far so good and it's now about 10 years old.
