many people do 50-90, and sometimes i do the same thing
its 98*F here today, so yeah the A/C is on and since the PD70 is on the Solar adds to that instead of being the primary
yes the 120v fridge is on, it is NEVER off, unless i'm servicing the DC system
and 4 hrs is not all day
it spends most of the day on float
right now reading 13.42v and 1.1 amp charge, with PD and Solar
IF we did not need the A/C the genny would be OFF
fridge all night, fans all night, PC/TV for several hours
the power use at night adds up
it takes time to put that back in the morning,
and since we full time , I prefer to do a full charge as often as possible
its better for the batteries
if NO A/C is needed, i can get 6~7 hours from a 1.6 gal tank , which means two days use from one tank of gas, and NO full recharge (the meter might say full) (but if they are taking amps, they are not full)
but with 90+ temps and the A/C running, 4 hrs MAX genny run time, avg 3+hrs
so i use about 4~5 gal of gas, on days when i really need the A/C all day like triple digit 100F days
On Thurs and Fri i only used $6 per day (2 gal per day)
here in So calif, any campground with hookups will cost close to $60 night minimum
IF i was in the Indiana or Ky i could get a state park with electric for about $22 night (last time i was there) its probably closer to $30 now
the fridge is on Genny, when the its running, but of course that adds to the fuel consumption
i wasn't intending to comment on fuel use
i was commenting that i did not think 4~5 hrs to go from 60+ amps to full charge was bad at all
look how many times the charge cycle time chart has been posted,
i don't remember seeing those charts showing full charge in that time period
no matter what the SOC was at beginning of charge
we all know the 90~100 is the hardest
and my batteries are above 80 percent every morning
a couple of nights when i turned in early and it wasn't this hot
the batteries were at 90o/o in the morning
i don't see any reason to deliberately drag them down by treating them harshly, the accidental necessitated times will happen often enough
i think my lowest overnight amphrs use was 56ampHrs
most nights its 80~100+ amphrs
EDIT weather report, just reported todays high 'here' was 101*F
