The ADJ only stays above 15.5 for 15 min anyway, so that was it. It does not have temp comp but the VEC does.
I have used the ADJ (with R1 intact) to do Es on my T-1275s by setting 16.2v (Trojan spec for E) and after 15 min, unplug, let the caps bleed off, plug back in for another 15 min of 16.2 and repeat. Sort of a pain but I have no other charger that can do in the 16s. So to do an hour that takes one start-up and three repeats.
With an E you are supposed to hang around anyway, so repeating the 15 min thing isn't that inconvenient. I can tell with an hydrometer if the T-1275s are "done" (takes less than an hour with them) but I have no idea how you tell when you have done enough with AGMs doing that high voltage routine. Where did the three-hour choice come from? I guess you learn from how they work afterwards and get experience? I gather that is what LY does.
What does "slow to recharge" mean? What is the indication on the monitoring? LY talks about that sort of too, but I am unclear what that really is. Thanks. One of these days I am going to have to get into this with my AGMS so it is useful to know.
