Wow! Unplugged 50 to 30 amp adapter....50amp female melted

Stayed 2 weeks in Floirda. With the 30amp plug with just AC and one other appliance (fan) kept tripping breaker. Put my 50 amp to 30 amp adapter and when left after 1 week of redoing....found my 'fema...

what's a 50 to 30 amp female adapter? is it a cheater, that lets you plug a cord set rated for 30 amps into an outlet capable of delivering 50 amps?

if that's the case, you're lucky only the cheater melted, rather than the cord set melting or catching fire.
