Wow! Unplugged 50 to 30 amp adapter....50amp female melted

Stayed 2 weeks in Floirda. With the 30amp plug with just AC and one other appliance (fan) kept tripping breaker. Put my 50 amp to 30 amp adapter and when left after 1 week of redoing....found my 'fema...

A 50 to 30 adapter should use just 1 leg of the 50 amp circuit to energize your 30 amp service. If all connections are tight, it should not get hot. My guess is the dog bone contacts have worn a little or are making a loose connection which is creating the heat. A good idea for everyone to check when using a heavy draw.
