My solar controller set-up does not have its own read outs like some have, but I do have a Trimetric. It is my choice whether to have the solar across the Trimetric's shunt or not, and whether to have anything else on that shunt too.
I chose to put everything on the Tri's shunt after a week of just having the solar on it, so I would know what is "normal" for solar.
Then with everything now on the shunt, I can tell how much of what is showing is due to just solar "close enough." I don't need such accuracy that I need a separate shunt for just the solar. YMMV.
If you have solar with the Trimetric, be sure to shut off the auto reset of AH as described in the instruction manual for solar users.
