Hi Rainbird
I agree those Prosine2.0 units when working are nice units
Got one in pieces here on the shop bench with the dreaded error code 0258
Right now I believe there are defective caps seeing that they used the cheapest ones they could source at the time in the early 2000's.
Your issue is different - Are there any error codes? If so what?
As I understand it the inverter function works
So with no shore power and with battery power attached you have 120Vac under a heavy load. If so that's a good sign. When shore power is attached the shore power breaker pops... Transfer relay or charger are suspect.
I would take it out of the rig have to remove the many small screws holding it together. At the AC end there is a large electrical box just under that and well hidden is the "O" so small transfer relay look around that area for burned / discolored parts. My guess without seeing the unit is the Battery charger function died and tried to ingest a huge amount of current from the shore power - but this is ONLY a guess.
Happy to take a look at it for you

"I wonder if the charger portion could be isolated inside so you could feed it 120v directly where now it can't get enabled with no 120v via the internal transfer switch or however that works. Then all you would have to do is re-arrange your 120"
Sure would be nice .............. However they (charger, inverter, micro controller, etc functions) are "O" so integrated - no way to within reason segregate the functions
