I was--but Gordon's post about the 3012 being new technology got me to thinking. And if I can easily throttle the input limits on the 3012 down to 15 amps, it may be a better choice than the 2800 new unit. If I do drop to the 2800, I'll probably cheap out and get a refurbished one.
The specs on the two are close to identical, particularly for the over loads, but it seems to me that I'm better off with something I know I can get parts for if need be, than the stand alone inverter that I really want.
Similarly, while a triple outback unit would put me in 7th heaven, the price is very nearly double the 3012 unit. I'm not at all sure I have room for the outback, either.
