yep, the edges of the cloth on my flat hose started leaking also.

I do not recommend the X-Hose or any of the so-called "pocket" hoses for fresh water supply line. Here is why.
IN 3 of the campgrounds I frequent it is not uncommon to loose water line pressure, when this happens the hose attempts to "Retract" and when that happens it pulls on the fresh water inlet.. now in my RV due to the way things are that's not going to be an issue (it will be pulling on a solid brass fitting not the RV's inlet) but in most it can pull hard enough to pull the fitting apart.

Now. An option: There is something called a "Flat Hose" this comes on a reel, 25 or 50 foot or 100 foot long in most cases.. Most all the advantages of the X-Hose but unlike the X-hose it does NOT put itslef away.. i have one that's aroudn 20 years old I use on rare occasions for tank fill (not fresh water hookup)_ When When stored (Coiled on the reel) if you took the top off one of those 5 Gallon pails you get at Lowes or Home depot.. it would fit INSIDE the lid Makes it easy to Store

We are fulltimers and I've been using the Zero G drinking water safe water hose now for six months without issues. They are not your typical pocket hose.

Do not waster your money, we bought one and it blew up, traded for #2 and it blew up, finally got our monry back, no questions asked, seems that three different neighbors had the same problem so we all are using real hoses...

Thanks for all the responses, especially the video showing different brands of collapsible hoses; after looking at the testing results I've decided not to waste money and therefore won't purchase an XHose or similar products. The hoses don't seem to be safe for drinking water, or at least aren't certified for such use, and then when you turn off the spigot the hose will contract and pull back from your hookup, could be a problem! Thanks again for the info.

A neat hose if it works. We had so many of those XHoses that blew up on us. We had four in our yard and my husband kept taking them back to our local hardware store because of the warranty. I told him give it a break and get another hose, LOL.

I use a Zero G water hose that I purchased from Camping World. Nothing like the pitcher hoses. It is drinking water safe and stores much easier that the typical hose. Purchased a 25' and like it enough I got another 25' if needed.

We've been very happy with the hoses we got from the RV Water Filter Store - not only can you get any length you want, but these hoses seem to coil up much better, especially at lower temperatures. They may cost a little more, but IMHO they are very much worth it. We have 2 25' and a 10'.
