Yamaha EF2000iS Inverter Generator will not start

I have this Yamaha generator that's been sitting for about six months without being used now. We are getting ready to go on another trip and figured I better make sure everything is working properly....

Most likely needs the carb cleaned. Don't mean to be too basic, but you turned the fuel switch on, right?
