Yamaha Inverter Generator EF2000iS question

I have a specific question for those who have the Yamaha Inverter Generator EF2000iS running in parallel

The specs say it will run 10.5 hours at 1/4 load. If you run them in parallel with no external fuel tank and you are running a 13.5btu AC, the refrigerator and water heater are running on propane how long will the generators run? ....Will they be running in the morning if the fuel is toped off at 10:00PM?

I know this is a specific question for Yamaha only so Honda replies wont be much help...Thanks

  • Good question. I have two Yamaha's that I run parallel to power our houseboat. Using it to charge our 6 batteries, run 2 RV fridges, an ice maker, bar sized fridge, chest freezer, and misc. appliances periodically during the day we can get 6 - 8 hours before refilling.

The generators kick out of eco mode when the battery charger is on (about 3-4 hours charge time in the morning). With your load, I think you will be out of eco mode anytime the AC is on.

So, that is a long way to say I don't think you will get through the night if you are running the AC continuously.

I went with the Yamaha because I got a great deal on the first one at a time I was not planning on running parallel. It has been great, but had I known I was going to use them this way I would likely have bought Honda just to get the extended run tank.
