Makes sense. Add another radiator to a system that doesn’t cool properly and get more cooling.
But why? Seems like a complicated bandaid for a much simpler solution.
Get rid of the EGR and send that heat out the exhaust pipe not into the cooling system.
Really it’s a free side benefit of deleting the EGR and not trying to kill the engine with soot or any other egr related major failure. Especially on a 6oh.
You could have killed 3 birds with one stone but instead you added 1 more bird.
EGR is already deleted by previous owner. This engine has a persistent heat issue. There are a lot of products by several companies adressing the issue. IPR Research, Bulletproof Diesel, Sinister Diesel. They sell various solutions ranging from 500 to 2500 dollars.this setup cost me about 60. This setup also tries to address an issue the other systems do not. Rapid pressure increase due to waterpump cavitation at higher RPM. This setup adresses the rapid buildup of steam pressure from waterpump cavitation. So far, results are promising showing 4 to 6 degree coolant temperature drops and oil temp droping from 12 to 9 degrees hotter than coolant. I'll keep a record of how it performs
