Mishimoto and FORD OEM DeGas Bottle Comparison

Mishimoto and FORD OEM DeGas Bottle Comparison

I purchased a Mishimoto DeGas Bottle for my 2006 F-550 6.0 Liter Power Stroke Diesel. I've had cooling and coolant blow out the cap issues ever since I bought the truck. I've done a lot of work to the truck and made incremental improvements. AFE Street Dominator 3 core radiator. Bullet Proof 100mm Aluminum Billet water pump. Severe Duty Motorcraft fan clutch. Blue Wire Fan switch modification which helped a lot. Adding additional auxiliary radiators on the coolant filter and top of engine to degas bottle hoses. Adding a 1500 CFM electric fan in front of the AC condenser to push more air through the cooling system and improve AC performance. Now I'm going to install A Mishimoto Aluminum Degas Bottle. Unfortunately, The Mishimoto bottle is not larger than the OEM bottle and is actually a half cup in internal volume smaller. The build quality is outstanding though there are things I would change if I had the power. The bottle as of posting this video has been installed and is working nicely. I have also made changes to the coolant plumbing lines making everything 1 inch hose and fittings to improve flow to the water pump. In testing over 50 miles, the cooling system for the first time did not blow out coolant. I suspect this is more due to the new larger plumbing hoses and fittings than the Mishimoto bottle itself. In the next video I'll be showing the installation of the bottle and what I did differently with the hoses and fittings. It is the first time I have pushed the truck to force a coolant blowout and could not make it happen. I didn't turn on the engine fan switch just leaving that normal. The coolant never exceeded 190 degrees and was typically 186 to 188 and on down hills drop to 176 to 178. The oil temperature was a little higher at 198 to 201 freeway 66 to 71 mph. On city streets, it dropped to 190.
