Yah. People are surprised by the amount of energy motive forces require. We have had a zillion questions from curious people. We have found on this trip that many of the Superchargers are co-located with gas stations or gas bars in shopping areas. People will leave their vehicle at the pump to come over and ask about our little trailer and SUV combo. Many ask why we just don’t put a solar panel on the roof to recharge instead of using the supercharger. I try to explain but I’m not good at that kind of thing. Others ask if we turn off the AC to save range and again it’s hard to explain how little power is used for AC and heat in a vehicle compared to motive forces. We just did a 605 kilometre day and probably used around 210 kwh of power. My guess is about 8 or 9 kwh of that was for the AC. The rest was motive. The range graphs change very little with AC use. Point is I doubt solar all over the car would keep up with the AC let alone the motive requirements.
Not an expert. Just an EV/RVer.
Safe travels all.
