GM’s EV1 & EV2 were shipping in the mid 90’s. Honda was shipping their’s during the same timeframe
Drove the first Tesla ‘production unit’ during lunch break when Tesla’s were basically a Lotus with an electric conversion kit. That lot used to be a GM dealership in Menlo Park by the Stanford shopping mall.
Hamburger lunch at the Oasis (famous Silicon Valley & Stanford University dive) and crossed El Camino Real to check out & test drive that Tesla. Tusk wasn’t involved yet, or that is what remember.
