That chip shortage is costing the auto industry billions of dollars because hundreds of thousands of cars and trucks can not be produced without these key components. Well, that is true for Ford, Chrysler, GM, Honda and Toyota, it is not true for Tesla. So how did Tesla avoid the chip shortage.

- Tesla actually requires fewer chips as most components are controlled by the central computer.
- Maybe if on the Rivian they just turned the headlights 90 degrees? Horizontal instead of verticle?
