Today I replaced the hub assembly. Made in USA Timkin with a lifetime guarantee.

Then I had the CEL come on so I checked the code and it said #2 Knock sensor. Pulled the intake manifold,

Popped the rubber plugs and found this in #2. The sensor was fully submerged in water. #1 looked like new.

The rear #2 sensor was looking pretty sad compared to the front sensor.

Here's the finished job with the new sensors and harness. I made a high temp caulk dam around the new rubber plugs so water will be unable to get in and ruin the sensor again. This is a pretty bad design to begin with and is not used on the newer engines.

All in all it was a pretty easy job. Lots of electrical connections to keep track of and with the truck being high and the engine low it was a pretty good workout on the back. While I was at it I cleaned the throttle body. Runs like a new truck now.
