I do the same - once it goes on in May, it stays on for the season.... unless I need to take the truck in for some sort of repair.... which only happens about once every other year.
Mine will be coming off soon, primarily so I can finish the charging cable upgrade. Unsure if I will put the camper back on this season or not - time will tell.

1. The moment the last camper jack is retracted after I load in May.
2. The moment the truck clears the camper after I unload in September.
Between them is pretty good, but would be better if I used the camper more or it was easier to load.
