Okay, so I didn't do this today, it was a few months ago....
New 383 crate motor. Nothing wrong with the old 350, it just didn't have the poop to haul the camper in overdrive. Now I have plenty of torque and can handle overdrive with the torque converter locked up at 70mph. Mileage is the same as before too.


Had the 4L80E transmission rebuilt while I was at it. Essentially a brand new drive train. Cheaper than a new truck & payments, that is for sure!
