Took the Superduty over to the local mechanic to have the radiator hoses, serpentine belt, coolant flush and power steering pump replaced. 140k, 15+ years old components. I can do it myself, but the the amount of antifreeze needed is overwhelming for me to handle.
Did all that last week. Installed a green stripe Gates ambulance duty serpentine belt too. new hoses, new thermostat, new tensioner, new top idler pulley, new antifreeze and 2 pint bottles of DCA4 additive to the coolant. Forgot, removed and cleaned the overflow bottle too.
I'm 67 and had no issue with the AF at all. I need a stool to get in the engine bay, but thats it.
AF comes in gallon jugs today. No biggie. I did flush the system and switched to extended life (pink) coolant from the standard green stuff.
