Getting ready to pull the farm tank out and return the truck to camper duty. Gonna be a PITA, the tank is almost full. I used less fuel than I expected to.
Not bad on the brakes. I did my own last summer on my F350, everything new back and front and new brake hoses too. Calipers, pads, shoes drums, seals, wheel cylinders and hoses was about 400 bucks from Rock Auto.... and my time. I'm getting too old to horse the stuff around. I just changed out 4 tires and balanced them on my wife's van. I keep telling myself, at 67 I need to 'farm' it out. I still like doing it and I have the tools and know how so, why not.
I can do anything from an engine rebuild to air conditioning. All it takes is time and I'm retired so I have the time.
Have to do the brakes on the van next. Rotors, calipers pads, shoes and drums, plus it needs a new valve cover gasket.
Tires are still the hardest but tractor tires are wicked to break down. I use a n air operated bead breaker but you still have to lever the tire off the rim... and they are heavy too. My big radials weight about 300 pounds each unfilled.
Keeps me young, active and muscular.
