Covered wagon understands how a fuel system should be set up. However the In tank lift pumps have proven to be pretty bulletproof. Low failure rate and they'll actually support a little extra fueling.
IMO an aftermarket lift pump is only warranted if fuel delivery rate exceeds the OE pump, not as a reliability fix for stock or near stock trucks.
I got bit by the shatty filtration of 3rd gen OE setup. 120kmi with fuel filters changed every oil change and it killed 2 injectors. Added a 2micron filter upstream of the OE filter for insurance.
