Wayne, I have done enough research to know what I'm talking about. Big primary filters should do and are designed to do all of the work pertaining to problems discussed here. I don't understand how you could think putting a filter in the tank is going to do anyone any good. I say this because the primary filter has to go on the suction side of the pump. I get mad when I hear people being a victim to these improperly set up trucks.
All boils down to whether you want a properly set up serviceable truck. It's not hard to see and I've modified mine even further than said here.
Wayne, is yours a 12 or 24 valve?
Mine are both 12 or 24 valve, a 1996 (12 valve) and a 2004 (24 valve). Keep in mind, the 24 valve has at least two different fuel systems (1998.5 through 2002, 2003 and up) as I understand, with unique requirements/demands for each.
