'07 Dodge 6.7L harsh shifts using tow haul or exhaust brake?

My 2012 Ram is like that also...just part of it. When trans is in tow/haul mode it seems to shift a little harder which is better for the tranny because heat kills when it comes to transmissions. So sliding into gear is out of the ques when towing. With the engine brake on it just compounds it because its downshifting but your not burning up your brakes trying to slow down.
Just reminds me of my racing days with a manual shift automatic...shifted so hard it would break tires lose.
