I happened to find this basic cobra inverter that's so cheap and simple with alligator clips included that I'm thinking about getting that instead of the pure dc usb setup (which seems enticing exactly perfect for my situation cost and use). But every now and again I might want to use normal 110 minimally, such as hair cut or coffee grinder.

400 watts might have trouble with a coffee grinder. I would jump up to 1000 watts. Stay with pure sine wave if you can afford it.

And I don't know if it's me not knowing exactly what to type in but I really couldn't find normal 6v golf cart batteries online that wasn't in a bundle or priced really weird but I found this affordable battery from auto zone. Would this work fine? It's <100$
Battery from autozon
This is a marine battery--so you could only use 20% of the 105 amp hours. It will work fine but hamstring you with either short life or tiny capacity. The only way it would be suitable is if you are going to be a "power pole princess" and always camp at places that have 120 volt power available.
Phone the local golf course and ask if they sell golf cart batteries.
Or save your pennies and buy an SiO2 battery.
