1000 pound tongue weight: 1/2 ton or 3/4 ton???

Hi, I am looking at a new trailer that has a 1000 pound tongue weight (dry). Should I be looking at a 3/4 ton truck or will a newer 1/2 ton suffice? I know that some of the new Ford F-150s have pre...

Yes, a 3/4 ton was my initial thought as well, but then I started reading about the "new" 1/2 ton trucks...particularly the F-150s that claim to have super high payloads up into the 2500 pound range which made me start to wonder. I do find the ecoboost engine intriguing.

Good point on the hitch rating though. I never considered that.
