1/2 ton pickup + 6000 lb TT on 5000 mi western trip

With my 3/4 Burb's 4L85E transmission towing my 7200# TT, my highest trans temp last year was going down the Teton Pass with 10% grades and 25 to 35 mph curves. The temp went up over 250F before I realized it and started using more brake. It was definitely a balancing act between brakes and gears. I remember it vividly. The rest of the trip, I didn't see temps over 210 - 220 so I'm extremely pleased with my truck's towing performance. There surely will be some interesting moments on your trip. Camp On!
