What's the GVW on the trailer?

10600. Was hoping to keep loaded weight to more like 9000. Listed uvw is 6273 on sticker.

UVW means nothing, you will never tow it empty.

Never tow empty but it's not likely to be weighed loaded before sale. Gotta start with something.

You can tow it, but I also see you purchasing a heftier truck within a year!

Just me...I try to take 25-30% of the trailers dry weight to figure loaded weight...but for a TT Toyhauler that could be 50% or more of UVWR. Especially if you plan on taking 'toys' with you. If your not planning on taking toys there are better options in a trailer.

I can easily see that trailer being more than 9,000 lbs loaded... That 9,000 lbs is clearly in 3/4 ton range... The tongue weight could be more than 15% due to the nature of toy haulers...basically...if you have your heart set on this trailer I recommend stepping up to a 3/4 ton truck.

Can you tow this trailer? Yes..there is nothing physically keeping you from hitching up...but it's too much for the truck...

Something that is often lost when shopping is that the tow rating of the truck is just ONE piece. Often it's the payload rating or the receiver rating or the tire weight rating or the axle ratings that get maxed out long before you reach the mythical tow rating. It's the component that gets maxed out first...that's your true rating...and as the operator you have to know which one and at what weight you will max out at.

As my good friend BenK says..."How much can you tow??...how much should you tow???"

That tow rating is often figured with a driver...no passengers...nothing in the truck...it's not real world. It's a myth...especially in a half ton truck.

10K loaded. At 15% that's 1500# on the hitch. The 1/2-ton won't cut it.

I would look at the 3/4 ton trucks now if that was the trailer that your going to get or already own. Gas or diesel your choice, gas would be no issue with the trailer your looking at. The biggest take away here is payload issues. That's why I state 3/4 ton all the way. You don't need a 1 ton or diesel per say so gas will work easily.

Can't get out of this truck for at least a year to 1.5 years. Definitely plan on 2500 dmax though. Not "set" on this trailer just seemed like a good deal. "Need" room for 2 sport quads and 2 full size dirt bikes. On board gen and 4 beds. So sleeping capacity of 6. I have class 4 hitch 12000/1200. And my truck won't be loaded with all passengers. 2 vehicles. Maybe 23ft toy hauler at about 10k have and just try and keep weight down? Will have to tow with water no hookups
