- 100tonExplorerSeveral years ago I tried a 12 volt coffee maker on my boat. I recall that it took thirty to forty-five minutes to brew. I guess if you were desperate for coffee, it was okay. I had better results brewing with 110 v/gen the night before and warming on the stove in the morning. I wake up way too early (4:30/5:00) to be using generator.
As I mentioned, this was several years ago, the 12 volt coffee makers may have improved since then.

On Edit: As mentioned above, I also use the French Press method at times. - DavidPExplorerBoil water and use a French Press. Much better than a 12 volt and will make better coffee. We keep one the trailer in case power is out.
- hedgeExplorerColeman makes one that runs on propane. I have one and it works pretty good although a bit slow. It's been shelved for now as we usually use a Keurig when we have power and a cafejo manual keurig when we don't.
- 2oldmanExplorer III've not heard of anybody successfully using one. Electric pots use a lot of electricity, whether 12 or 120v.
You're going to get pages of everyone's favorite way to make coffee.
