- bigfootfordNomad IIIIf you boondock and need to use a fan pay attention to the specs, specifically the amp draw.
1 amp an hour would gobble up 8ah in an 8 hr sleep time.
There are some fairly quiet computer processor fans and usb fans.
I have a small 2x2" processor fan in my fridge. I can hear it when we go to bed and things are quiet.
Jim - Joe417ExplorerI tried reversing the O2 Kool. The shape of the blades allow it to cavitate and it didn't push the air well.
Endless Breeze may work better in reverse.
I used a PWM exactly like what Geewizard pointed out except the pot was attached to about 5" of wires.
Drilled a hole for the pot on the inside curve of the base and attached wires from the original speed switch to the PWM. That allows you to use a 12V power transformer with the original power connector or use a direct connect 12V cable.
By putting the PWM in the O2 Kool base, you won't be able to power it with D cells. - GordonThreeExplorer

The Endless Breeze and O2 Kool were both too noisy for us. I went with the O2 Kool.
Its cheap but noisy at rated voltages.
I found that is was quiet a 1/2 voltage so I added a $3 pulse width modulator which allows it to be quiet while moving less air but also to move a lot of air if needed.
You can do the same with the Endless Breeze, it just costs more.
Like this?
That should do it...
I have one of the reversing kind like this for my Vortex vent fan, never got around to installing it, might hack it into the Endless instead - GeewizardExplorer

- 2oldnslowExplorerI also use the O2 kool fan. Works very well and didn't cost an arm and a leg IIRC. I've had it so long I don't remember what I paid for it or where I got it.
