'14 Ram 3500
Looking around for a 3500. Found a '14 with low miles, but it seems to be a buy back truck from California. Steering issues, dealer could not replicate the problem. What changed from '14 to '15 frame/steering wise if anything?

If they couldn't replicate the problem then they couldn't see what the problem was. In my experiences with FCA, there is no problem if they can't see it. Even if they can hear or feel it but can't find the source they will call it "normal". Highly doubt they would buy back a truck that didn't at least replicate the problem. There has to be more to it.
X2 - I've owned all the major brands of cars/trucks over the years and Ram is miles below every other brand when it comes to dealing with problems. I think the training for their service writers consists of two steps:
1-"That's normal. They all do that."
2-Make up some overly "techie" excuse that nobody could possibly understand because it defies logic and is total BS.Me Again wrote:

RAM bought back a lot of trucks in the last years. Most had small fixable issues, but the owners used this opportunity to upgrade to a newer truck.
This 2014 might have been bought back while they were waiting for a fix for this.

Well thats a new one, where did you come up with a buyback for the track bar issues on the 2014's. Read a lot about the track bar recall from start to finish, and don't remember any talk of a buyback. If that would have been the case I would have been the first in line.Kevin Todd wrote:

I would stay away from Ram especially the 2013-15. Specifically the 2014 in question it has had six recalls, and headed for a seventh on the emissions, which also includes the 2013, and 2015.
The emission system on the 2013-15 are very troublesome . Reason for the recall coming. Will it help the problems, we can only hope.
The track bar was not a steering issue unless it came undone because of poor welds, but I think you stated it had the recall on the track bar . Emission problems alone would keep me from a 2014 .- I'd be skeptical of a buyback as well, but depending on your mechanical ability, how the truck drives and what kind of deal you can get, it may be the right truck for you.
With the absurd resale prices and low inventory of newer rigs a guy on a budget needs to get a little creative maybe to get what he wants.
Def do your research on it and test drive the snot out of it first.
My question is how'd a CA buyback make it to TN?
Second owner after the buyback that had problems too?
IMO a buyback would have to be priced like a salvage to make it attractive and then only if it checks out. - Yep they bought back my 12 when I went to a 15 but I thought that was called trading in...just being a smart#$%, sorry couldn't help myself. I wouldn't touch the 14 OP was referring too, could be a lot of down the road issues in my opinion.
