What is truly bizarre, the Toyota Landcruiser 200 Diesel is the 10th best selling vehicle in Australia. It OUTSELL's the 2.8 Litre VMotori Colorado Pickup which was 17th
Yes the Landcruiser is used heavily as a tow vehicle in Australia.
Toyota Landcruiser 200 the 10th best selling vehicle in Australia
As usual Toyota dominated the sales charts with five vehicles appearing in the top 10. The HiLux ute lead the charge with 3742 sales, which was good enough to make it the highest selling vehicle in the country, again beating and extending the overall lead over its arch-rival the Ford Ranger (3076).

The Toyota Corolla with 3208 and the Toyota Camry with 2385 sales were the second and fifth highest selling vehicles respectively.

Toyota's outback warrior, the LandCruiser four-wheel drive and ute made an ing SUV (1739)

Weirder still Australia is the 4th largest Global Market for the BMW Mseries
Weirdness all round 4th highest market for the BMW M series
  • Don't forget to calculate the USD conversion, so that would knock about $30,000 off the price.
And it was only 40 trucks...
The first batch of 40 pick-ups has been sold and there are more shipments already on the water.

And it is a full size truck
It's the first time a full-size US pick-up will be sold in Australia with manufacturer backing since the iconic Ford F-Series pick-up was dropped locally in 2007.
    ...snip...
The biggest of the Dodge Ram pick-ups coming to Australia can carry more than 3 tonnes in the ute tub (versus the current category maximum of 1 tonne) and tow more than 7 tonnes (versus the current category maximum of 3.5 tonnes).

They have to literally rebuild and strengthen them. They also get updates on what has failed from the US and replace those parts.
