My truck is the same as the ones in the article. I spent about $40k US on it, but it costs about $110,000 US in Australia (at current rates). Fuel is also a lot more expensive in Australia, and it doesn't get great fuel economy. It's also big which can be challenging even in urban environments in the US, let alone what it would encounter in Australia. If you can't understand these basic points there's really no purpose in discussing it further.
All I meant with my initial post is that, for those who can afford these imported Rams and are lucky enough to get one, they are going to get ruined when it comes to going back to a little Aussie truck at some point.
Well US Pickups in Australia used to cost as much as the current Ranger/ Hilux. Fuel was 40c a litre. In Australia. Ranger/ Hilux are similar to 1990's to 2003.F150's in size.
F250-F350's did not sell..RAM will not sell other than in niche numbers combination of outrageous prices and basically zero demand.
Those 2003 sized Little Pickups are vastly better Off Road than any RAM. We have had F250-F500's, Chevrolet 2500-3500's a now RAMs .No one ruined by the experience.
Can add their is no displacement tax, roads happily support a 2003 F150 sized vehicles.,US HD Pickups are not new here , so no surprises - IdaDExplorer

I hope they sell a million of them. Putting Americans back to work! :)
- ShinerBockExplorerRobert, multiple members of this forum and I have went over why North American full size trucks don't sell well outside of NA. Things such as the old displacement tax(which the US never had) where larger displacement engines found in big trucks were taxed heavily which caused vehicles to become smaller overseas, smaller urban roadways due to these smaller vehicles, cost to convert the vehicle to right side drive, fuel prices being much higher in most places outside NA, and their higher cost of ownership are all reasons.
However, you don't want to believe these reasons because it does not fit your anti-American mindset. You want to hate anything that comes from the US from our measuring system to our trucks and you want to believe that everyone outside North America does as well. This hate for anything US causes irrational thought and illogical reasoning. Hence the reason why you post so many false things that cannot be backed up with any facts or references. Set aside your anti-US hate for a while and open your mind to a logical conversation without the name calling, false comments, and false accusations. - RobertRyanExplorerPickups are booming in Australia roughly 15% of overall vehicle sales including the best selling vehicle.F150's /F250's etc have disappeared. No, I fully read IdaD's post which is why I agreed with him and responded to it. You just didn't agree with it which is why you resorted to childish name calling and false accusations.
I also read where you stated that ASV had to "literally rebuild and strengthen" the Ram's compared to the US version and where you also said they made "updates on what has failed from the US" which is why I asked for proof of those comments since everything that I have read(links provided) has stated otherwise. - RobertRyanExplorer

Not anotherI do not have a clue. You tell me Canadian why did the OEM's stop selling US Pickups in Australia? Or do you just like to troll as in your post?
D had nothing to do wth it. - RobertRyanExplorer

Troll? :h
My response wasn't even toward you. If you don't like then go pound sand instead of calling people names or falsely accusing them of things. Better yet, show proof backing up what you said earlier about how they had to "literally rebuild and strengthen" the Ram's compared to the US version or made "updates on what has failed from the US".
