1971 cayo pu camper

I am in the process of re-doing the inside of a 1971 cayo pickup camper. I am trying to take the toilet out, the holding tank is all cracked up. My question is how is the toilet suppose to come out? It is a thetford aqua magic constellation 50. I think there are bolts that secure it to the floor. But how do I get the outer skin off the toilet to get at the bolts? Any help would be greatly appreciated, as the toilet works fine.

  • My bet is that your Black Water tank was made by Thetford. They don't make them anymore and the tank is a really unusual shape, if it is the same as the C-11 Avion.
  • There is discussion going on now at the Avion thread that relates to your question, I think.
  • If you look under the flush pedal ther is a bolt that you can reach with a wrench.
On the left hand side of the toilet at about 10 oclock is a round plug.
remome the plug and you can get to the back bolt witha long socket extension.

    Good luck

Your Cayo is very similar to the Avions and made by the same people. Check out the Avion thread here as there are tons of pictures of Avions in various stages of repair restore and use.

The guys on that thread should be able to help you out. I have a 1966 Avion, but all the original stuff was removed when I got it...

    Good Luck, and WELCOME!!
